Andrea Gibbs Raigans Obituary

Andrea Faye Gibbs Raigans of Little Rock, AR went to be with her Lord December 12, 2020 after a long and courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by her family. In addition to her beauty and grace, she was a very smart and educated woman who graduated from Hamburg High School in Hamburg, AR in 1977 and attended Philander Smith College. She retired from the Arkansas Department of Corrections. Andrea acknowledged Jesus Christ at an early age and was an active member of Harboring Christian Ministry Church.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Dorthy and Archie Gibbs, Mama Donna Gibbs, Great Grandmother Mattie Gibbs, and son Vondrae DeKeith Hawkins. Andrea enjoyed going to church, dancing, traveling, telling jokes, laughingand spending time with family and friends. Anyone who has met Andrea knows that she is the most amazing listener because she embraced everyone while never judging them. She would do anything for anyone in this world as her spirit was so genuine, kind, and welcoming. She was very much an angel on Earth, and now she’s an angel in Heaven, but she will be remembered as someone with such grace and a forgiving and loving heart. She had this joyous energy that was very infectious and could turn anyone’s bad day into a great one. Her children and grandchildren were the highlights of her life. She always asked what her grandbabies were doing and each time she saw them her eyes lit up. She loved life and encouraged her loved ones to live life to the fullest, and that’s just what she did. Anywhere she was, she turned it into a dance floor because she loved dancing. She was likely the first one on the dance floor and definitely the last one off. Faye Raye loved the camera and the camera loved her back capturing all of her beauty and joy.  She would travel internationally solo and her fearless nature is such an inspiration and she will be missed dearly.

She leaves to cherish her loving memories to:

Two lovely daughters – Carandrea Raigans of St.Louis, MO and Raga Brown of Little Rock, AR. One son – Tyler Thomas of Little Rock, AR. Three grandchildren – Elijah, Raina, and Baby Conway. Seven sisters – Sherry D (Bobby) Watson of Malvern, AR, Audrey D (Vincent) Cox of Little Rock, AR, Ramona Askew of Perry, GA, Tara R. Lyle of MS, Charmaine (Kenneth) Childress of Maumelle, AR, Vernicia(Allen) Huggins, Arlington,TX, Malana (Curlan) McCray – Conway, AR. Five brothers – Andrew D. Simpson of St. Louis, MO, Tony Perry of Orlando, FL, Archie A. Gibbs, Perry L Williams, Zachary Gibbs of Crossett, AR. And a host of nieces, nephews, and other family and friends. May she rest in peace and continue to watch over all of us.
