Annie Lee Iles Weston, born to the late Julius W. Iles and Clara Robinson Iles, entered this world on June 11,1950 in Inkster, Michigan. She made Detroit, Michigan her home, where she resided for over 30 years before relocating to Alexandria, Louisiana and built a life filled with love, strength, and enduring connections. Her presence touched many, and her legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
From an early age, Annie embraced her Christian faith, beginning her spiritual journey at First Baptist Church in Michigan. She married the late Joseph M. Weston, with whom she shared a life built on love, partnership, and faith. She later moved to Alexandria, Louisiana to fulfill her prominent dreams and aspirations.
As she matured in Christ, she continued to fulfill her Christian duties with devotion at St. Matthew’s Baptist Church in Boyce, Louisiana, where she served faithfully in numerous leadership roles. Over the years, she contributed as a Vacation Bible School Director, Sunday School Secretary, Health and Wellness Ministry Leader, and in many other capacities that reflected her deep commitment to serving God and her community.
Annie pursued her passion for caring for others by earning her nursing degree and becoming a Licensed Practical Nurse. She dedicated more than 30 years of her career to the Veterans Affairs Medical Center, where her compassion, professionalism, and steady presence touched the lives of countless veterans and their families until she retired.
Her record of service extended far beyond her professional and church roles. Annie was a devoted Girl Scout troop leader, a key organizer for multiple Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure events in the City of Alexandria, local Parent and Teacher Association groups for her grandchildren, and a constant source of support for anyone in need. Whether through organized efforts or simple acts of kindness, she offered helping hands to community members from all walks of life. Annie had a generous spirit—she often gave her last so that others could have what they needed.
Our servant of God and the community, Sister Annie Lee Iles Weston, departed this life peacefully on Sunday, December 7, 2025, at 3:23 am at UAMS Medical Center, surrounded by her loved ones. She had five grandchildren, Kennedi, Karrington, Jaida, Kyler, and Johannah; a godson, Keldric Nash, an adopted son-in Christ, Terry Barker; a loving paternal sibling, Shelia Martin, and host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, church families, and communities.
