Athonia Nicole Ireland

Athonia Nicole Ireland was the middle child and second daughter born to Ronald E. & Barbara G. Ireland on March 8th of 1982 in Little Rock, AR.  She accepted Christ when she was 12 years old at Lewis Street Church of Christ located in Little Rock, AR.  Athonia would later become a member of Colonel Glenn Church of Christ where her love for God grew even more, preparing her for her journey to be with our Lord and Savior on Monday, January 24, 2022.

Athonia attended McClellan High School, where she was a member and Captain of flag line.  May 2000, she graduated from McClellan High School and decided to continue her education at the University of AR at Pine Bluff.  As a student of the university, she would become a member of and asset to an organization known as the Vikette Society, Inc. in the fall of 2001.  Athonia would go on to participate in many functions especially with volunteering to tutor students, visit the elderly, and give to the needy.  She was the perfect example of what it means to have… to know… true sisterhood.

July 11, 2005, Athonia birthed a healthy 6lb 5oz baby girl to our family, who she named Kierra Nicole Ireland.  Kierra is her only child but was her whole world and would do absolutely anything for, with more love than a child could handle.  They went on many trips including a vacation to Mexico twice forming many memories and happy times.  Athonia always tried to make birthdays grand to show Kierra how loved she was and that whatever she wanted her Mom would make it happen.

Athonia was a doting & dedicated mother, a loving & selfless daughter and sister as well as a sincere & faithful Christian.  She is survived by her daughter Kierra, her mother Barbara, sister Cheronda (Walter) of Little Rock, AR and brother DeVante’ of Little Rock, AR. She also leaves behind a host of aunts, uncles, other relatives and many friends.
