Mr. Calvin Lewis Sr., known as Fat Lewis, was born in Okolona, AR, on January 6, 1951, to the late George Austin Lewis and Elizabeth Hayes-Lewis. He confessed a hope in Christ at a young age. He later united with Zion Wheel Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Oliver Epps and was baptized. Calvin grew up in Gurdon, Arkansas until his mother moved the family to Little Rock. Calvin attended Sweet Home High School. He later received his General Education Development (G.E.D) certificate.

Calvin worked several jobs during his lifetime prior to retiring. He worked in a furniture factory and also worked at AO Smith (Smith Fiberglass Co) for more than 40 years. He united in holy matrimony to Carolyn Dixon on March 22, 1975, and to this union three children were born.

Calvin stepped into eternity during the early morning hours of Thursday, August 27, 2026.

Calvin was preceded in death by his parents George and Elizabeth Lewis, a brother, Charles Edward Lewis, two sisters; Vera Ann Bell and Mary Jean Boatner, a granddaughter; ShaRanaye Smith, and a great grandson Aydan D. Horton.

Calvin “Fat” Lewis Sr., leaves to cherish his memory a loving wife of 51 years, Mrs. Carolyn Dixon-Lewis, son; Calvin Lewis Jr., of Dallas, Texas. Daughter’s; Towanda Leshelle Lewis of Jacksonville, AR and Sholanda Lashay of Little Rock, AR. Three grandchildren, Kiara Nicole Thomas, Damon Lemont Thomas Jr., and Tyauna Elizabeth Thomas all of Little Rock, AR. Two great grandchildren; Nathan Lemont Thomas and Maya Elizabeth Thomas.

He also leaves to cherish his memory, three sisters; Georgia M. Boatner and Nancy L. Buie (Curlee) both of College Station, AR, and Doris A. Lewis of Southwest Little Rock, AR. Four brothers; Lonnie J. Lewis of Higgins, AR, his twin brother; Carol Lewis of College Station, AR., Tommy R. Lewis Sr., of Little Rock, AR Elmer J. Lewis of College station, AR, and Paul Marlow of Prescott, AR, as well as an aunt, Bennie Fuller of little Rock, AR.  He also leaves to cherish his memory, his niece-daughter, Cassandra D. Lewis-Thomas (Andre) of Jacksonville, AR and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
