Claude owned and operated several businesses in Little Rock, Arkansas and Memphis, Tennessee. He was co-owner of the Quarter Note Club for 10 years, and was the current President of Quality Security Services, Incorporated. He received numerous awards and recognitions for his outstanding service and was well-respected for his contributions to the business community in Arkansas.

Claude is survived by his wife of 54 years, Dorothy Jackson; and one son, Granville “Ronnie” Smith (Tina) of Tucson, Arizona; three daughters, Tamica Lacey of Fort Worth, Texas, Selandria Jackson of Little Rock, Arkansas, and Cristil Rycraw (Shawn) of Alexander, Arkansas; two sisters, Jessie Mae Harrison (Robert) and Thelma McCall and 3 brothers-in-laws; James Hughes, Johnnie Morris Sr., and Dock Sampson.  Grandchildren: Deszzarray, Christopher, Christian (Abbie), Tristian, Khyrah, Precious, Ashley (Juan), Joshua (Quiaira), Granville Jr., Griffin (Vanessa), Khloe, and Shawn Jr., and a host of great grand-children, nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.
