ERIC MAURICE PENNINGTON, born February 3, 1970, in Woodson, Arkansas, was welcomed into his eternal home on April 30, 2025. He was the beloved son of the late Rev. Odell Pennington and Mercie Pennington. After graduating from Wilbur D. Mills High School in 1988, Eric enlisted and served in the Army National Guard for a number of years. He later pursued his passion at Arkansas Beauty College in Little Rock, and upon graduation, launched a distinguished 30+ year career as a licensed barber and beauty professional. He accepted Christ at an early age and united with First Baptist Church of Woodson.

In the late 1990s, Eric felt a calling to share the Word of God, often referring to himself as a “street preacher.” He modeled his ministry after Jesus, reaching out selflessly to those often neglected. His unwavering faith and compassionate spirit shone through in everything he did, bringing light and hope to many. Eric’s kind and generous heart left an indelible mark on those who had the privilege of knowing him. His journey was defined by deep faith, a commitment to helping others, and an infectious joy. His passing leaves a profound void in the hearts of his family, friends, and all those touched by his presence.

He is survived by his children, Ayonna Narosha and Micah Maurice of Little Rock, and Douglass Lynn of Atlanta, Georgia; his sisters, Jackie and Iris Pennington, and Beverly (Derrick) Perry; 15 nieces and nephews; 23 great-nieces and nephews; and six great-great-nieces and nephews, along with a large host of relatives and friends who cherished his joyful spirit. He was predeceased by his parents and three brothers, James, Bruce, and Malcolm Pennington. Eric found immense joy in music and was deeply passionate about Black hair care, with aspirations to develop his own line of healthy hair products. His gift for bringing smiles and laughter to others will be remembered and treasured forever.
