Giana Swanigan Obituary
Giana Swanigan was born October 13, 1992. Giana was born with cerebral palsy, but what the devil meant for pain the Lord turned into a blessing for the Shaw family, they loved and cared for her like their own. Giana education began at Easter seals, and from there she attended Fulbright elementary where she met Ms. Monique. She then attended Forest Heights middle school. Giana then did a year at J.A. Fair high school, and transferred to Parkview Arts and Science Magnet, where she graduated.
Giana had an awesome voice; she began singing in talented shows in elementary school. This ability got her into Parkview. Giana also took Taekwondo through Anderson Taekwondo while she was in elementary and middle school, where she participated in several competitions and won awards and trophies. Even though Giana was a foster child, she has a village of females that poured love into this young lady. The females included, The Wilsons, Brockmans, Jacksons, Tomakos, Woods, and Barretts.
Giana was preceded in death by her father, Micheal Shaw, and grandmothers, Catherine Thomas, and Velma Coats.
Giana was called home to be with her Heavenly father on March 1, 2026. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her mother, Connie Shaw, her uncle, John Powell, and her Ms. Monique.
Giana touched many lives because she didn’t let her disability stand in her way. She will be greatly missed by family and friends. Those close friends near and dear to her heart will miss her the most, Taylor, Carmen, and Edward.
