Idola Davis was born June 26, 1946 in Wilson, LA to the parentage of Lewis and Deola McCray. She accepted Christ at an early age under the ministry of the late Pastor Wilbert Green of Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church in Wilson, LA. At the age of 18 Idola relocated to Oakland, CA and joined the ministry of Pentecostal Way of Truth in Oakland under the leadership of the late Bishop Calvin Davis Sr.  In 2012 she retired from Alameda County Superior Court. Idola will be remembered for her faith in Christ, spirit-filled singing, kindheartedness, generosity, and her mean pot of gumbo.

She is preceded in death by her parents; Lewis and Deola McCray, her siblings; John McCray, Eric McCray, James McCray, Theresa Watts, and Robert McCray. She leave to cherish her memories, her children; Stephen Greene Sr. (Ciara McKinns), Elihoenai Owens, Denise Damijo, Nathaniel Hollie, and Demetrius Smith. Seven siblings; Annie R. Brown, Roosevelt McCray, Hazel McCray, Freddie McCray, Vonnie McCray, Mary Leblanc, and Patricia McCray, and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, family and friends.
