Johnny Lee Patterson entered this life June 19, 1949 to the late Susie Patterson and Fred Boose Sr in Joiner, Arkansas. He lived 72 years until God requested his presence with him Saturday, September 25, 2021. .
Johnny confessed Christ at an early age. He graduated from C.V. White in 1969. He enlisted in the United States Army in 1969-1972, relisted in the Army Reserve 1977-1995. In 1971 he married his high school sweetheart Deanna Cook Patterson and to this union, Tracye Patterson-Anderson, Dena M. Patterson and Erica N. Patterson were born. Deanna preceded him in death on September 22, 2003.
Johnny became a Respiratory Therapist in 1978, while being employed at the Veterans Hospital. He has held many seats in the Union at the VA, including the union president of the American Federation of Government. He was also a Philander Smith College graduate. He was a Mason at the Shamrock- Trinity Lodge NO.35 of M.W. PRINCE HALL GRAND LODGE, F & A.M. OF ARKANSAS.
Johnny married Dorthia Douglas in 2009 and spent many years with her. He played an active role as a father figure to Katedra Douglas, India Nelson and Bryant Cannon. In 2011, they joined Holy Temple Cathedral Church of God in Christ under the leadership of Bishop Jewel R. Withers.
Johnny was a very affectionate, kind-hearted, and giving person. He loved to rabbit hunt and play basketball. He became known for his refereeing style in basketball. He was very passionate about his siblings, children, and anyone he considered family. He was ‘ALWAYS” willing to give a helping hand.
He was preceded in death by his siblings, Charles, Jessie (Bo), Eddie, Mae Dee, Estella, Rubysteen, Gregory Sr. and George.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his twin sister Johnnie Mae Webb; daughters Tracye (Santon), Dena & Erica; siblings Fred Boose Jr, Leola Jackson, Barbara Boles, Dorothy James, Eugene Boose, Milton Boose, Sharon Davis, Maria Boose Jones & Fernando Boose Sr; grandchildren Antonio Patterson, Tyler Riney, Eric Woods Jr & Richard McCoy Jr; great-grandchildren Zykhi Lewis & McKenzie Patterson. He also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
