Joyce Elizabeth Williams-Howard came into this world on April 17, 1953.  She was the fourth child of nine of the late Willie James Williams and Hesteen Davis Williams Brown. She was preceded in death by both parents and a stepfather (Robert Brown), one brother, Walter Williams, and five sisters: Scotty Rose Marie Williams, Barbara Lindsey, Marnell Gregory, JoAnn Lewis, and Linda Ann Williams.  She completed this journey on January 26, 2025, and passed away peacefully at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. 

Joyce was better known as “Mama Red”. She attended Carver Elementary, Camden Middle School on Center Street, and Camden High School. After graduation from high school, she was employed at Beverly Nursing Manor, Motel 6, and Laquinta Inn. She accepted Christ at an early age and later joined St. James Baptist church under the leadership of Reverend H.A Martin. 

Joyce was the mother of four wonderful and devoted children that will always remember her.  Sons: Charles E. Robinson Jr. and James Fredrick Robinson. Daughters: Tonya Yvette Robinson and Beneta (Desean) Lashawn Williams, all of Little Rock, Arkansas. 

She will also be remembered by other family members— Sisters: Brenda Wallace of Eldorado, Arkansas; Joy Lynn Williams of Seattle, Washington; and one brother Ronnie (Veronica) Brown of Camden, Arkansas; four uncles: Ulysses Davis, Zette (Beverly) Davis, and Bobby Joe Davis. Five aunts: Essie Davis, Mary Davis, Mildred Davis, Helen Davis, and Joyce Davis. Thirty-two grandchildren, a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives.
