Kenneth Earl Hampton Sr. Obituary

Kenneth E. Hampton, Sr. departed this life on Thursday, August 5, 2021. He was born to the late Sammy D. White and the late Mae Lois Hampton White, on November 30, 1958 in Grady, AR.

At an early age he professed hope in Jesus Christ, but in 2013 he rededicated his life to Him. In doing so he became an active and faithful deacon at A Touch of Glory Ministries.

To know “Kenny Hamp” or “Pops” as he was most affectionately called is to know that he had two great passions in life. In his younger days he had a great passion for sports, especially the basketball court, but his all-time favorite was ripping up a skating rink. Whether it was the old Jacksonville skating rink or one somewhere else, he was determined to get out there and show any one up on the floor. His greatest passion of all was his family. He absolutely loved his family and would give them anything he had if they needed such. His three sons had his heart, as they made him proud to be a father. He wouldn’t hesitate to brag to others about them or support them in anything that they has going on. While he loved his family and his sons, if the truth be told they all came 2nd only to his grandkids. For those grandkids he would drop everything he was doing, or even leave you where you are, to make sure that they were taken care of.

We will miss his wisdom, wealth of knowledge and his wit, yet we can live by his spirit that he leaves and that is: to always take care of family.

Kenneth E. Hampton, Sr. was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, Leroy Hampton & Sammy D. White, Jr.

He leaves to cherish his memories three sons; Anthony (Sylvia) Hampton, Kenneth Hampton, Jr. and Jherrithan (Chelcee) Dukes all of Little Rock; eight Siblings; Ronald (Gloria) Knight of Moscow, AR, Wilford (Donna) Hampton, James Jackson, Beverly (Lawrence) Williams, Laverne Hampton, Valda Hampton, Jacqueline Jackson & Eursel (Kenny) Summons of Little Rock; eight grandchildren and one great grandchild and host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members and friends.
