Larry Darnell Shorter was born to Willie Shorter and Elnora Shorter Wilson in Little Rock, Arkansas. He was educated in the Little Rock school system. Larry loved golfing. He retired from the Little Rock school district after 30 years of loyal service.

Larry leaves to cherish his memories; four sisters; Viola Smith, Wilma Piggee, Elma Bowens (James) and Gloria Moore (Willie), five brothers; Stevie Shorter, Alvin Wilson, Perry Wilson, Rickie Wilson, and Scottie Wilson, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
