Linda Jo Powell Obituary
Linda Jo Triplett-Powell, the beloved daughter of Shirley Mae Triplett-Avriett and Mike Charles Triplett, was born on February 10, 1962, in Portland, Arkansas. On June 24, 2026, in Little Rock, Arkansas, she transitioned from this life, leaving behind a legacy of love, faith, and compassion.
Linda accepted Jesus Christ at a young age, and her faith became the foundation of her life. She served joyfully and faithfully at King Solomon Baptist Church, where she embraced her role as a Deaconess for ten years with grace, humility, and devotion.
On February 17, 1993, Linda married her soulmate, James Powell. For 33 beautiful years, she poured her heart into their marriage, cherishing every moment, every memory, and every blessing they shared. Their love was steady, tender, and deeply rooted—an example to all who knew them. Together, they shared the joy of raising four children.
Linda was a proud member of Zeta Amicae of North Little Rock, AR, serving under the late Zeta Dove, Fran Jackson. Her commitment to youth mentorship and community service reflected her generous spirit. She also worked for the United States Postal Service for three years until becoming disabled. Even then, Linda refused to let her health define her. She continued giving, serving, and showing up for her community—most notably as a poll supervisor for the Pulaski County Election Commission. Her heart for service never dimmed.
Linda had a rare and beautiful gift: she made people feel loved, seen, and valued. Her joyful presence brought comfort, laughter, and warmth wherever she went. As the eldest sister, she carried her role with pride—bridging gaps, creating memories, and showing unwavering support. She was present in ways that mattered, in moments big and small, and she never missed an opportunity to show she cared. Her impact is woven into the lives of countless people, and her legacy will continue to shine through them.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Shirley Mae Triplett-Avriett.
Linda leaves behind a family who will forever cherish her memory: her devoted husband, James Powell; her father, Mike Triplett (Ardie) of Little Rock, AR; her sister, Tealisa Allen (Barrett) of Little Rock, AR; her brothers, Anthony Triplett (Sonya) of Little Rock, AR; Gene Calvin (Shiela) of Jacksonville, Florida; Milton Triplett (Emma) of Indianapolis, IN; and her children—Martisha Bell of Little Rock, AR; Mariah Powell of Little Rock, AR; Trevor Powell of Little Rock, AR; Marnicia Moody of Little Rock, AR; her nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; her bonus children—James Powell Jr. of Raleigh, NC; Rodrick Powell of Raleigh, NC; Michael Powell of Little Rock, AR; Daniel “Danny” Powell of Little Rock, AR; Jermaine Powell (Candiace) of Little Rock, AR; Myrick Powell of Bentonville, AR; Jamie Powell of Little Rock, AR; Lover Powell of Little Rock, AR; Tony Glover of Little Rock, AR; Damien Powell of Little Rock, AR.
