Mrs. Louise “Lou” West Sullivan was born March 22, 1938 to the late Charley and Sarah Reams West in Humnoke, Arkansas. She was called to her eternal resting place on January 4, 2023, where she went peacefully in her sleep. Louise accepted Christ as her personal Lord and Savior at an early age at Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist Church, located in Humnoke, Arkansas. She attended public schools in Allport, Arkansas. Once Louise moved to Little Rock, Arkansas she started her career in Nursing. She worked many years at the Southwest Nursing Home where because of her diligent and strong work ethic she was promoted to Charge Nurse. She also worked several years as a nurse at Lee Nursing Home. Shortly after her career in Nursing came to an end she started her final career as a Daycare Owner where she went on to impact several lives in her local community.
Louise was a natural caregiver and opened her home to anyone in need. Almost everyone in the Little Rock and surrounding areas knew her as Mama, Lou, Ma, Mumsie, Granny or Brother. If she didn’t babysit you personally, she babysat your parents, your sister, your brother, your cousin, your neighbor, or somebody across the lunch table at school. She had a real passion for helping others and giving back to her community in any way she could. On Saturday mornings she loved blasting Shirley Cesar while cleaning UNLESS it was the Saturday her and Ms. Ruby had to hit the highway to Hot Springs for the Horse Races. She loved a clean house, Smokey Robinson, playing the lottery on Wednesdays, and a 12 pack of Coca Cola.
Louise and her husband Frank Sullivan attended Philadelphia Missionary Baptist Church in Menifee, Arkansas where Reverend Robert Thompson was the presiding pastor. She is preceded in death by her brothers; George Scales, Levon West, Eugene West, Maurice West, sister Billie Jean West Davis, and daughter Eddie Mae McGrudder.
