Michael was born in Little Rock, Arkansas April 8, 1990, to Michael Underwood Sr. and Tyra Darville Layne. Michael was preceded in death by his grandmother Margaret Underwood, grandfather Timothy Darville Muhammad, and his uncle Talat Darville.

Michael leaves to cherish his memory: wife Jenica Doma, son Malachi Underwood, mother Tyra Darville Layne (Tyrell), father Michael Underwood (Shermish), sisters D’Wanna Downs (Sam), Tifanie Layne, Sherell Layne, Mickylia Underwood, and God sister Cherish Washington, brothers Mareques Roy (wife), DeVon Underwood (Latonya), Dennis Underwood, Tavares Layne, Montrell Layne, grandmother Cynthia Darville Grimes, mother-in-law Joyce Doma, father-in-law Vijender Doma, God grandfather Excel Warren Jr. and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends including special friend Sol Mejia Alcantara.

Michael received high school diploma from Truman Middle College in Chicago, Illinois and attended Oakton College in Skokie, Illinois where he received certificates in Marketing Management and Marketing Communications. Michael was the ultimate entrepreneur and innovator. His first love was music production and writing. His career included CEO and marketing for his music company Genuine & Supreme Entertainment, G&S Academy and his clothing and accessories brand DFL Bag SZN, as well as marketing and sales for his companies and other mainstream companies.

Michael’s greatest priority was his son Malachi. He was a very hands-on dad and he was Malachi’s hero. Michael never met a stranger, and everyone he met became his family. He had the biggest heart. His family spans beyond blood to include some very special friends who called him “brother.” Michael had broad impact on the lives of his brothers, aka “squad.”
