Nancy Renee Pettus

“Nae -Nae” was born on April 17th, 1973 in Arkansas. Her life was dedicated to Christ at an early age at Pilgrim Baptist Church in Scott, AR. She attended UCP, a school for children with special attributes, where she came into contact with some great Teachers and met many friends. In her later years in life, she spent her time surrounded by her family and phenomenal caretakers. Nancy’s family described her as “a true angel, and a shining light.” Renee truly had the special ability to show her love without saying a word. Her family looked to her for inner strength and perseverance, as she continued to fight numerous health battles. She helped her family, especially the ones who fulfilled her caretaking needs with inspiration, medical knowledge, and resilience.

Nancy was thankful for all of her caretakers’ special dedication to providing for her every need, day after day. Step by Step Home Healthcare, Inc. (Phyllis Green, CEO), Palco Inc., Mrs. Debroah (Care coordinator), and Beyond Boundaries agency for always providing exceptional services to address Nancy’s in-home needs. Their love and the love of her gigantic family blessed Renee’s heart and sustained her to live beyond the Doctor’s life expectancy of 18 years. For the past 50 years of Nancy’s life, she was a tremendous blessing to her family!

Nancy was predeceased by her mother Evone Pettus and a host of family members. She is survived by her loving father Dale Perkins, sister Masami Pettus, brothers, Derrick Pettus and Antoine Perkins; her dedicated God-appointed mother JoAnn Pettus, along with her siblings, Sonia Pettus, Frank Pettus, and Crystal Akins (John). Nancy’s nieces and nephews were the joy of her life including; Raven Evone (Kyliee Dior & Karter), Dalvin Pettus (Dallas & Lauren), Braylon Dennis (AhMadre), John Akins Jr., Jaydon Akins, Jaxon, Gisele, Aaliyah, Syreni, Juanya, Janiya, Jayla Pettus all of Little Rock, AR., The Pettus Sisters & Brothers of Scott, AR; The Perkins family, and a host of relatives.

The best gift Nancy gave everyone that she knew was her altruistic spirit, beautiful smile & her life! She was the epitome of God’s chosen “Golden Child.” The family honors her for all the amazing ways she taught them about life & love, for the ways she inspired people to be better, and for all the love she gave everyone while she was here. Even until the end, she found a way to smile and laugh at her loved ones. May we never forget our beautiful gift Nancy Renee Pettus.
