Percy Jordan was born July 16, 1939, to Robert and Pinkie Jordan. He departed this life January 13, 2024, at his home in West Little Rock, Arkansas.
Percy confessed a hope in Christ at an early age at Mt. Moriah Baptist Church in Gould, Arkansas. He was joined in holy matrimony on October 30, 1987, to Carolyn Troope Stamper in Little Rock, Arkansas. He retired from Alcoa Aluminum Company (Bryant, Arkansas) in June 2001 after completing 30 years of services.
He is preceded in death by his parents and grandparents, a son; Earl Ray Cotton, a brother, Thomas Arnold, eight sisters, Erma Jean McCoy, Robbie Evans, Wilihemia Jordan, Jessie Turner, Alice Faye James, Connie Jordan, Sonya Marie Jordan, Catherine Arnold, and a step-grandson, Corliss Terrell.
Percy, known by friends as “Kalo”, leaves to cherish his loving memory, his wife, Carolyn Jordan, two daughters; Phyllis Jordan (Benton, AR) and Veronica Michelle Rice (Georgia), four sons; Vance Jordan (Wife Connie, Cordova, TN), Calvin Barker ( Pine Bluff, AR), Troy Cotton, Chris Hill, a step-son that he raised, Cedric L. Terrell, a step-grandson, he also raised, Cedric M. Terrell, a close confidant (his daughter’s sister) that was thought of as family, Janice Johnson, a sister; Ruby Hosie (Bakerfield, CA), a brother; Clem Arnold (wife Erma, Gould, AR), and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren (including step great & great grands, nephews, cousins and other relatives.
Percy was a friendly, fun-loving, honest, good-natured, hardworking person that believed in taking care of his family. He enjoyed entertaining and catering to visiting family members. He was held in high esteem by all that knew him. He never met a stranger that he couldn’t laugh and conversate with.
Percy Jordan, deeply loved, will always be remembered in the hearts of his family and friends.
He will be greatly missed.
