Roberta Francis Moreland was born in Little Rock on January 4, 1954 to Irl, Sr., and Zetta Moreland (both of whom she is predeceased by). She passed peacefully into the next life on October 26, 2021. She was predeceased by two brothers, Irl, Jr. of North Little Rock, and James “Jimmy” Moreland of Hot Springs.
Robbie was a sharp wit, quick on the uptake, with a keen eye and ear for the foibles and facades of society, but, paradoxically, also blessed by possession of a romantic’s warm heart—given to goodness and idyllic notions “we all mean better”. She wrote, in years past, for The Democrat, covering style and culture, keeping up with the Miss Arkansas pageants and giving us culinary tips on what precious little restaurant nooks might flatter our tastes.
She was a loving, dutiful daughter to her mother and a caring, beautiful sister to her two best friends, Marion and Beverly. She knew that such—true friendships, were among the best blessings any one soul can hold to here on earth.
She loved her cat.
And she loved God and Jesus and has gone to be with Them. She will be sorely missed by all those who knew her. A memorial service will be held for those dear to her at a later date. Any donations should be given to Arkansas Hospice, truly angels on earth.
