Thenie Patricia Barker Dukes, Pat as we all knew her as, was born the only child to Rufus C. Barker and Carrie Lee Duncan on April 19, 1953 in Cotton Plant, Arkansas. She received her education at Cotton Plant High School and graduated in 1971. She also attended Arkansas Baptist College.

Pat accepted Christ at an early age and later attended Pilgrim Valley Baptist Church in Little Rock, AR. She moved there to begin her life and career. For over 17 years, Pat worked for St Vincent as a surgical Scrub Tech. She also worked for Arkansas Children Hospital and UAMS, where she spent her last ten years and retired with over 30 years as a Surgical Scrub Tech.

Pat was married twice, where she had two children in her first marriage with the late James T. Walker. She had four children in her second marriage with her ex Juan E. Dukes Sr. where they raised six children together, Nicole, Keith, Juan Jr., Jowanna, Curtis, and Christopher.

Pat loved entertaining her friends and family at her home. She had a love for fishing and baking/cooking.

On Sunday, July 24, 2022, Thenie “Pat” Dukes departed this life to be with her heavenly father.

She is preceded in death by both parents and one son (Juan E. Dukes Jr.)

Pat leaves to cherish her memories; five children Nicole (Anthony Sr.) Neal, Keith (Angela) Walker, Jowanna Dukes, Curtis (Letisha) Dukes, Christopher (Tiara) Dukes, twenty grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, friends and family.
