Theodis Young Sr. was born on December 6, 1948, to Q. Z. Young and Leola Adams in Marvell, Arkansas. Later in life, he moved to Holly Grove, Arkansas, where he worked as a rice producer and farmer. He met and married Barbara Jean Polk and to this union five children were born. They joined I John Baptist church in Holly Grove, Arkansas.

Theodis was a devout Christian, and a dedicated husband and father. He loved dressing in his “cowboy” gear on a daily basis. He enjoyed driving around in his pickup truck and meeting people. All who met him loved him dearly. He adored his family and worked hard to provide for them.

He had a very close walk with God. He always had a testimony to tell or was ready for any evangelism team. He proclaimed Jesus as his savior and the Holy ghost as his helper until his last day of life.

Theodis was preceded in death by his parents, Q.Z. Young and Leola Adams, his wife, Barbara Jean Young, and a few siblings.

He leaves to cherish his memories, three daughters, Brenda young, Sherry Young, and Ashley Young; two sons, Theodis Young Jr., and Michael Young, and a special daughter, Rita Kone. He also had a very true friend Ms. Joyce Harp, seven grandchildren and one great grandchild, little Ms. Sa’Narii Young, who he greatly adored.
