Velvet Ann Haymon was born on November 2, 1952 in Little Rock, Arkansas, the daughter of Mr. Willie Lee Haymon and Rosie Lee Jackson Haymon. She was born the 7th child out of 11 children. Velvet accepted Christ at an early age. Growing up in the East End, Velvet attended George Washington Carver. Velvet moved to Minneapolis, MN as a teenager, where she lived with her aunt Ruby Blakes. While in Minnesota she attended North High School, and after moving back to Arkansas, Velvet adult life begin. She worked numerous of jobs all at one time, up until her timely death. Velvet was employed at OJ’s Commercial Cleaning.

Velvet had a loving and kind spirit and although she never had children of her own, she was a mother to many. She loved her family as much as she loved taking selfies.

She was preceded in death by her parents Willie and Rosie, three brothers; Joe Lee Mcfadden, Maurice Haymon, and Alexander McFadden and one sister; Mary Louise Williams.

She leaves to cherish her memory, a longtime companion Roy West, two sisters; Geraldine Williams, and Annette Haymon, four brothers; Evander Haymon, Earl Haymon (Carol), Theodis Haymon (Sandra) and Ronnie Phillips and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
