Victor Charles Smith Obituary

Victor Charles Smith was born November 23, 1949, in Cabot, Arkansas to Nathaniel and Cynthia Smith. He attended Cabot High School and graduated in 1969 being the first African American football player. He also attended the University of Arkansas, Pulaski Technical College and Hendrix College.


At an early age, he confessed his life to Jesus Christ and was baptized at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Cabot, AR. He was an active member of St. Peters Rock Missionary Baptist in North Little Rock, where he served actively in numerous ministries, mainly as church security where he felt it was necessary to protect the church and pastor.


He married Shirley Ann Calhoun on July 15, 1978, and to this union two children were born, Charra Sharell Marks and Cori Shantrell Booth.


Charles was preceded in death by parents; Nathaniel and Cynthia Smith, siblings; Nathaniel Smith Jr., Betty Smith, James Smith, Jerry Smith, Norman Smith, Kenneth Smith, and Jeffrey Matthews.


He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife of 46 years, Shirley Smith, his children; Charra Marks (Fabian) of Austin, TX, Cori Booth of Dallas, TX, four grandchildren; Stephin Louis Booth III, Cortni Sharell Booth, Parker Michelle Marks, and Payton Makenzie Marks, his siblings; Cynthia Abrams, Curtis Smith, Tommy Smith, and a host of friends, nieces, and nephews.


Charles will be greatly missed!
